Alan James migrated from South Africa to Western Australia in 1992.
He lives at present in Perth. While still living in Cape Town,
where he was a lecturer in business law as well as a writer,
he founded and edited a poetry magazine UpStream,
set up and managed a small poetry publishing trust,
and wrote reviews of poetry collections.
